InclusiveSpaces at the European ITS Congress

InclusiveSpaces is proud to announce its participation in the European ITS Congress, to be held in Seville from May 19th to 21st, 2025. The ITS European Congress is Europe’s premier event showcasing smart and sustainable mobility solutions, connecting industry leaders, policymakers, and experts to shape the future of transport. The initiative will feature two engaging sessions designed to advance the dialogue of inclusive urban mobility within the context of intelligent transport systems.

Session SIS 52: Building Inclusive Cities – Co-Designing Accessibility for All (Workshop)

As cities strive to become more inclusive, this interactive session explores how planning tools and assistive technologies can support accessibility for all. The session will begin with short presentations from InclusiveSpaces, AMIGOS (MBE), and SPINE, highlighting tools and approaches focused on inclusivity, including assistive technology developed by TOBEA.

The second part will engage the audience in a hands-on workshop, starting with an interactive Slido ice-breaker to reflect on the current state of accessibility in participants’ cities. NTUA will present a digital tool supporting inclusive planning, followed by an open discussion using Slido and open mic contributions. A “Challenge Clinic” will guide participants to frame real-life accessibility challenges, such as standardization or scalability, then collaboratively brainstorm, refine, and shape solutions.

The session will draw from the InclusiveSpaces project while opening the floor to broader experiences and initiatives, ensuring a rich exchange of ideas to co-create actionable, people-centered solutions for more accessible and sustainable urban environments.

Session TP 2 Adaptive Mobility Technology 1

This session will explore how the technologies being developed for InclusiveSpaces are transforming cities, making them more accessible. Focusing on urban management strategies for pilot sites in Geneva and Penteli (Athens), during the session we will discover how a smartphone application utilizing GPS-based geofencing technology activates mobility assistance, enhancing accessibility for individuals with mobility challenges or visual impairments.

The session also introduces new traffic management software that helps automate tasks and make operations more efficient. These tools support efforts to build cities that prioritize equity, accessibility, and independence for all.

Don’t miss this opportunity to learn about these innovations and their impact on shaping the future of urban mobility!
