Larnaka (Cyprus)
– Inclusive design and seaside accessibility
No statistics are available concerning the number of disabled people who live in the city of Larnaka. However, the significant challenges in accessibility for disabled individuals is still evident. Many public spaces, such as parks and beaches, lack proper accessibility, and numerous buildings do not adhere to standards that facilitate the movement of disabled people. This social imbalance highlights the urgent need for improvements in accessibility.
To address these issues, InclusiveSpaces is embarking on several key initiatives
aimed at enhancing accessibility and inclusivity in Larnaka:

Digital Accessibility Assessment: iiAPA will deploy a digitalised accessibility design evaluation tool to assess buildings and public spaces, ensuring they meet high standards of accessibility.

Mobility Station/Kiosk Implementation: TOBEA will set up and demonstrate a Mobility Station/Kiosk to enhance urban mobility for those with disabilities.
