As part of its mission to transform urban environments into spaces of belonging and accessibility, InclusiveSpaces recently conducted two focus groups: one in Larnaka, Cyprus (April 4, 2025), and another in Madrid, Spain (April 10, 2025). The aim was to listen, gather feedback, and improve our work by including the people who are most affected by design decisions. TOBEA develops innovative solutions to enhance accessibility for individuals in vulnerable situations, including those with mobility challenges. Inspired by a conversation with a friend who uses a wheelchair, TOBEA’s founders created the SEATRAC system to allow independent access to the sea. They have since expanded their mission, contributing technologies like the Mover iSEATRAC and iKiosk to the InclusiveSpaces project.

The InclusiveSpaces project was officially launched mid-June, with a kick-off meeting in Madrid attended by all 17 consortium partners.  

InclusiveSpaces seeks to redefine the way we design and create our built environments, to ensure that they are inclusive and safe for people living with disabilities, as well as empowering individuals in vulnerable situations. This Horizon Europe initiative, co-funded by the European Commission and coordinated by cambiaMO, aims to standardize and digitize design frameworks, promoting a transition to a more inclusive and climate-friendly built environment.
